About Us
MONOslow was born out of the principles of slow tourism and slow dining. It stems from the belief that true experiences take time.
For us, slowing down isn’t just an added bonus—it’s the whole point. At the foot of Hegyestű, the noise of the world gradually fades away, and the rhythm of nature takes over.
The breeze blowing through the vineyards, the shifting light on the hills, and the quiet cycle of the seasons all remind us that there is no need to rush. We believe that quality comes from attention to detail—in our wine, our food, and the time we spend together.
It’s not about a packed schedule or checking off experiences—it’s about being present. It’s about sitting down with a glass of wine, chatting, listening, or simply taking in the scenery. Here, you don’t have to do anything—just be here.
MONOslow offers what is most lacking in everyday life: the absence of crowds, noise, and the rush. We make room for silence, contemplation, and that rare, pure peace in which we can reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with nature. This is not merely a winery, but a way of life. A place where slowing down becomes a virtue.
About the Estate
In this imposing, historic building, the atmosphere of the last century is subtly blended with modern elements. Its style evokes the elegance of Provence, France, which meets the natural beauty and rustic charm of the Hungarian countryside.
During the renovation, we paid special attention to preserving the building’s heritage, with a particular focus on the careful restoration of the painted room, while also bringing a modern, minimalist comfort to the spaces.
The wine terrace and restaurant, located in the central part of the building, can accommodate 70 guests, while the lower level features a historic vaulted cellar system where we still age and store our wines today.
At the MONOslow wine estate, we offer not only a wine experience but also a chance to truly slow down. Our guests can play chess, enjoy a game of Hungarian cards, or lose themselves in antique books. Starting in the spring of 2025, we’ll also have a petanque court, bringing a taste of Provençal life to the Balaton Uplands.
Winery
The transition to organic farming began in 2024 on the estate, which currently spans 2 hectares; this transition is based on respect for nature and sustainability.
Our goal is to work in as much harmony as possible with the landscape and wildlife in our viticulture.
In 2025, we plan to plant an additional 2 hectares, thereby strengthening the estate’s future and its commitment to organic farming.
MONOslow wines thus embody not only the character of the landscape but also the values of conscious, responsible farming.
